![]() ![]() No barracks means the millitia units end up dying too often and dont get to level. The make or break to this strategy is finding militia bow + barracks (everything else just makes the mid-game smoother). I would ignore medics and all other unit types since your academy jacked legionnaires and longbowmen will wreck face. I find that a combination of aggro + rescue does well as the extra enemies will feed you more money and exp. The big thing to look out for finding the gold/population to support the army as it levels. The barracks will provide a steady stream of exp for the low tier units and eventually they will level up to mid-tier units that can fight decently well on their own (especially well if you have 1 or more academies already built). I've not had trouble with this if you manage to get militia bow + barracks + academies. Sounds like you're doing the general leader playthrough. Feels like some things need adjusting/buffing and it shouldn't be as contingent on RNG. And even then it seems like if those aren't "THE" strat/build you will lose anyway. this game it feels like you should be able to adopt a few different strategies per Character and succeed.īut each strategy hinges on having the perfect set of cards/buildings/advisors to make use of it and if you don't get them you are pretty much crummy at whatever you try. It feels like I'm being punished if I don't play a very specific way. but even with moving full squads to one side or the other to stack Stone Skin it doesn't make a difference, and the fire bombs of the lizard men are just designed to murder all my medics and abuse that particular strategy. I had 5 good Medics and a group of gladiators that I had been beefing up since the early game thanks to getting medic and them early. Been trying for a win as the others but it feels like as soon as I get to around round 24-26 the overwhelming damage/attack speed just destroys my units. I've gotten my first win as Shaman and as the Merchant. ![]()
